 AP Environmental Science is a one-semester course designed to acquaint students with the physical, ecological, social, and political principles of environmental science. The scientific method is used to analyze and understand the inter-relationships between humans and the natural environment. This course has been audited and authorized by the College Board to use the “AP®” designation. This course requires the completion of 21 labs, 9 standard onsite supervised hands-on labs, or wet labs, and 12 simulation labs, or virtual labs. This course satisfies the University of California (UC) Laboratory Science criteria. Simulation labs are interactive web-based labs that provide the realism of traditional hands-on labs. Computer simulated or web-based labs are not a substitute for hands-on labs. The University of California's current online courses/policy states that UC will not accept any online course in area of Laboratory Science unless it includes a supervised wet lab component.
