AP Calculus AB: Course Organization
This course is organized into 6 units (4 units in the first semester and 2 units in the second semester). Each unit is comprised of lessons, and each lesson is broken down into four sections: Readings, Multimedia (lessons), Assignments, and Assessments.
- Readings – This section includes the learning objectives for the chapter and required readings for all of the textbooks mapped to this course (you choose one textbook).
- Multimedia – Each lesson contains a multimedia presentation that provides the "lecture" portion of this online course. Additionally, the first lesson in each unit includes an introduction video for that unit.
- Assignments -- Within each lesson are assignments that may include Free Response Questions that follow the same format as the FRQs on the College Board Advanced Placement Exam, simulations that allow practical application of the material you have learned, and discussion questions that enable you to share your thoughts/opinions on the chapter topic. Some lessons also include practice materials and extra problems related to the lesson topic, which can be useful studying tools.
- Assessments – This section includes a quiz and open response questions that follow the same format as the assessment items on the College Board Advanced Placement Exam. Make sure you have studied all the material for the Lesson BEFORE attempting these.
